Tucson is Magic

  • I can’t wait for my stay! How early can I arrive & how late can I stay?

Check-in is at 3 PM and check-out at 11 AM.

If you arrive early, feel free to explore our art gallery, snap pics with murals, or relax by the firepit or Zen Zone.

Our heated saltwater pool is always ready and you can enjoy a drink at the local beer and wine bar while you wait!

And if you want to soak up a little more time with us, just ask about late check-out.

  • Is it true? No wallpaper here, just pure art?

Yes, wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling art! Every inch of our space features murals and works from local artists.

And if you see blank space, not to worry, next time you return it’s likely to be covered in local art.

  • What kind of food fuels the creativity here?

Breakfast… that’s our World’s Longest Oatmeal Bar and it’s 100% on the house (and crafted with the same creativity as our murals).

Lunch or dinner? Well, we’ll make you the best grilled cheese sandwich you’ve ever had and we’ll pair it with a local beer or wine for you.

  • I want to go down memory lane! What's the history behind the hotel?

Glad you asked! Designed in 1969 and built in 1970, this gem highlights the tail-end of the mid-century modern architecture era.

Its original name was “E-Z 8 Motel” and it catered to freeway travelers who could park their car directly in front of their room.

Silverlake Road gets its name from a lake formed in the late 1850s, just down the street, after the Rowlett brothers built a dam

    on the Santa Cruz River.

  • Can you describe the vibe of the rooms and share some details about the beds?

Think retro-cool meets modern comfort! Our 1960s-inspired rooms are adorned with local art and a touch of vintage flair.

You’ll love our assortment of pillows, both firm and fluffy, so you can find your perfect fit for a cozy night's sleep.

  • Hypothetically speaking… if something in my suitcase barked, is that okay?

Of course! Dogs, quiet birds and goldfish are welcome, but unfortunately, no cats or venomous creatures.

  • Are there any cool events happening during my stay?

You bet! Click the HAPPENINGS button at the top of the page or ask our staff about live music, art workshops, or local happenings.

There’s always something creative going on.

  • I love the planet. What does the hotel do for sustainability?

We don’t build new hotels; we bring old ones back to life! Saving them from the landfill and reducing the need for new materials.

It also involves some pretty cool stuff. We’ve got rainwater catchment systems, bioswales, recyclable materials, solar panels and drought-tolerant plants all doing their part. It’s sustainability with style and a little nostalgia on the side!

  • How “local” is the vibe and where’s the best spot for coffee or a bite?

We’re all about local authenticity! Everything here, from the art to the bar menu, reflects the local flavor, so you’ll feel like part of the community, not just a visitor. And when it comes to coffee or food, we’ve got you covered with our bar’s local brews and a list of must-try coffee spots and eateries around town!
